Lancers turn off the Knight Light
by Tom Stipanov
The Bishops Knights re-entered the league this year after briefly going down to eight-man football for a couple years. The game was held at home on Friday November 4 th in the evening. It was an important league game for the Lancers, and they rose to the occasion, beating Bishops 56-0. They shut down the Knight defense, which never passed the fifty yard line, while mounting a powerful offensive game led by Harari, the quarterback.
The game began with Bishops kicking off to Parker which was returned by Larry Ayers for 9 yards. The Lancers completed a fifteen yard pass to Preston Cavignac, and subsequently drove the ball the remainder of the way down the field with a number of runs by Gino Gordon and Zach Pavel. Gino finally scored with a three yard run. The kick by Ian Yoder was wide.
The Knights, though completing a nice pass and a good run, were unable to get a first down, and were forced to punt the ball 29 yards down the field. Parker then mounted another drive, with a 24 yard pass to Zach Pavel, and a 12 yard run by Preston Cavignac who scored. The team this time opted to go for two, and was successful, with a run by Gordon.
Parker kicked off once again to the Knights, and they fumbled the ball, giving the Parker offense another chance to score. However, this would not happen, even with a nice pass to Preston Cavignac, due to two penalties that set the Lancers back substantially. After a failed fourth down attempt, Bishops took over the ball. Bishops was unable to perform against the tough Parker defense, and was forced to punt after four downs to Preston Cavignac. The quarter ended with a 36 yard run by Gino Gordon.

Parker took the ball and scored again with a nice run by Harari on fourth down. Ian Yoder made the extra point. Parker kicked off again to Bishops, and after a play of Bishops on offense, they threw an interception to Jason Blake, who ran it for a small gain. Parker took the ball and scored with the help of Zach Pavel, and another extra point by Yoder.
Parker kicked off again, with the score now 28-0. Bishops made a small gain, but still was unable to move the ball and punted, which was returned by Preston Cavignac. Then a pass to Preston Cavignac took the Lancers even further down the field. After a holding penalty, Parker scored after passes to Kit Barmeyer and Gino Gordon. Yoder made the extra point.
Bishops returned the kickoff for ten yards, and held on to the ball for a short while, until they threw an interception to Gino Gordon to end the half. During the second half, Parker continued to dominate on both sides of the ball. Bishops first drive was halted, forcing them to punt, and Parker then scored again on a run by Zach Pavel, making the score 41 to 0. Bishops was stopped again after kickoff, and after runs by Tom Stipanov, Avery Brovick, and Jason Blake, Parker scored again, with an extra point by Yoder.
